Can not create or replace. Problem in Vista.

Hello,

I had been using ViceVersa for at least 2 years. In Windows XP and 2000 i have no problem, al works great.

Now i upgrade to Vista, and i am having a problem with ViceVersa in Vista. When i want to syncronize any folder of my PC with an external hard drive i get this message: Can not create or replace "E:\Directory\File" The file could not be accessed. This happens when i want to write on the external hard drive. When i want to write from the external hard drive to the PC its work OK.

I would appreciate a lot if someone could help me with is problem. Usually i do lot of my work at home, but now it is very difficult to do a manual sincronization of my work.

Hi Marcelo,

Are you using the latest ViceVersa PRO 2 build 2014?
what type of drive is the external hard drive?

I had the same problem.

An initial quick fix was to set the flag in profile:
"Advanced settings - Copy directly to destination - do not create temporary file"

Subsequently I loaded a registry patch for my Acer Travelmate.
(I had problems writing from office to the server).

This solved the ViceVersa problem , and I do not need the work-around!

It seems asif Dell and Acer have similar problems, as both have a patch

I had checked my ViceVersa Pro version and it is 2012. I will download version 2014 and i will check if the problem is gone.

Hello,

I had installed version 2014 but i still have the problem. I cant create or replace in the external hard drive (USB hard drive).

I also tried to check copy without temp file but it didnt solve the problem.

I will appreciate a lot any help.

Hello,

I have checked lots of possiblities over this weekend, but i still cant solve the problem. From the external USB hard drive y can replace and create folders and files to the computers hard drive. But i can not create or replace any folder or file from the hard drive of the computer to the external USB hard drive. I really would appreciate any help that you can give me. is the error message happening when copying new files or when overwriting old files on the USB drive?

Hello,

I have installed some Windows Vista updates (from Windows Update) and the problem is gone. I dont know what happens but now, the program works great.
