|
|
Hi,
I am using Vice Versa Pro 2 for Synchronisation of Project Folders between two servers from different Windows Active Directory Domains for a few weeks. Upto now everything went fine. All folders are perfectly kept in Synch.
Source = ServerA, DomainA
Target = ServerB, DomainB
Recently, I have set-up a synchronisation between the same source, but another destination server.
Source = ServerA, DomainA
Target = ServerC, DomainA
ServerA=W2K
ServerB=W2K3
ServerC=W2K3
The Jobs are identical (copied, then modified for different tracking database), but where everything goes wel in the first situation, something weird happens in the second one.
Job Description :
Source: "H:\Data DFS2\WTP\12128_AZN4\"
Target: "Z:\data\ENG\PROJEXEC\12128_AZN4\"
Include Subfolders: Yes
Create sources/targets that do not exist
Exclude subfolders: "DO_NOT_REMOVE_NtFrs_PreInstall_Directory"
Exclude system subfolders
- Comparison Settings -
Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
Ignore 2 seconds difference
- Execution Settings -
Method: Synchronization
No overwrite / read-only / error confirmations
Tracking Database: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ViceVersa PRO 2\12128_AZN4.tdb"
Log File: "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ViceVersa PRO 2\12128_AZN4.log" (max 10000 KB) (empty log file each run)
No archive for deleted/replaced source files
No archive for deleted/replaced target files
Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison
Try to copy files that are in use by other applications
1) When the Synch Job starts for the first time, the files present in ServerA are copied to ServerC, but are then deleted from ServerA !
Looking into the LOG file of the particular job, I do not see Vice Versa deleting the files on ServerA
2) As a result, the second time that the job runs, The files are deleted from ServerC !!!
3) However, when I add a file to ServerC, the file is copied to ServerA and is not deleted from ServerC = everything goes well.
I can not find any option that would have this symptom as effect.
Anyone, any idea ? |

I can assure you, there is no other profile.
The problem is also reproducable, each time I create a new profile with the same set-up, the same symptoms occur. |

One important element I forgot to mention might be that the source and target folders are both part of a Windows FRS replica set.
We are now investigating wether there is no problem with FRS instead, since we see the same effect when doing manual copies, instead of copies done by Vice Versa. Will keep you updated. |
