|
|
Hi,
I'm testing VV for a moment. Great program (since very long filenames are no problem).
I found problematic behawior when in the source folder are two files and name of one of them is the same like 8.3 name of a second.
Simple example (filenames and timestamps):
SOURCE FOLDER:
bilans_meduza.ozc 2007-06-13
bilans~1.ozc 2007-06-14
TARGET FOLDER:
EPMTY
Comparison OK, but after execute in TARGET:
bilans_meduza.ozc 2007-06-14
Only first file with date of the second.
If you now run COMPARE: SOURCE <> TARGET: 2 different files!
If you use in such case ARCHIVE you've got this file archived on each run, even if it never changes!
Configuration:
Comparison
- Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
Execution
- Method: Backup (Mirror Source to Target)
- No overwrite / read-only / error confirmations
- Copy files even if timestamp changes after initial comparison
- Replace newer target files with older source files (backup only)
Problem exist for sure on XP, Windows 2003 and Windows 2000 Server.

thanks, looks like a conflict between 8.3 names and regular names... will try to reproduce this behavior on my machine. _________________ --

Confirmed. This is an issue with ViceVersa PRO 2. I have logged this among the fixes to be done for next release. Thank you for reporting this! _________________ --
