Hello,
I have a question concerning compression option which can be set in ViceVersa aplication.
When I set up compress option for target file and I run viceVersa the compression is applied locally before files are copied and traveling over Network in compressed form.
But what is heppened when I have installed ViceVersa on one of my machines and set up a job in following configuration:
- the compression is set for target;
- source folder is set as remote directory
- target folder is set as local direcory
- on source machine ViceVersa is not installed, it is only on machine where is target directory.
When the files are compressed? Before or after copying data?
Regards,
Gosia |

Hi, in that case source files are actually accessed from the target (e.g. "downloaded") to be compressed and then copied from source to target compressed. _________________ --

Hi,
Could you write me again when exactly data are compressed in that situation. Before or after copying? If files are compressed before copying (remotely) how it is possible?
Thank you for your help.
Regards,
Margaret |

Hi Margaret, the file is compressed before copying, but in order to compress, the file needs to be accessed remotely (uncompressed). _________________ --
