|
|
I've got another problem. We've been running ViceVersa Pro for about a year to synch files between a Windows XP Workstation at a remote office and our Novell Netware 5.1 file server. The job is running every 10 minutes under VVLauncher.
It's been working pretty well and reliably, but lately, it has been skipping a few files.
The skipped files don't match any exclusion filters.
The skipped files don't appear anywhere in the log.
Other files from the same folders are synched OK.
The skipped file may have been open or updated on both machines, but we're running with a history database and shouldn't it both log the conflict as well as copy the most recent and archive the other?
If I clear the history dB and run the job, it then synchs the skipped files.
Synch settings are:
Default Synchronization Method: Advanced Sync (With History)
Log File: "H:\Projects\Synchronize\X2H.log" (max 500 KB)
History Database: "H:\Projects\Synchronize\X2H.tdb"
+No overwrite / read-only / error confirmations
+Try to copy files that are in use by other applications
Automatic Synchronization Process Priority: Low
Comparison Type: Size and Timestamp
+Ignore 2 seconds diff.
Archive deleted/replaced source files to: "H:\Projects\Synchronize\Archives\"
Archive deleted/replaced target files to: "H:\Projects\Synchronize\Archives\"
+Smart archive +Archive conflicts only
Archive max. 2 copies per file
Remove archive copies older than 30 day(s)
+Append Source/Target path to archive folder.
Please tell me this is a known bug fixed in v2
If not, what should I do to determine the cause?

Sorry, this is not a known bug, but we have made many improvements to the history database (now called tracking database) in VV PRO 2 that could help wth this. Please let me know what you find out. thanks _________________ --
