I found the problem not to be with Vice Versa but with the USB controller.
For some reason the files were not being transfered to the drive correctly, even though the file sizes appeared to be the same. This is why I was getting random CRC errors. As soon as I tried another(more reliable) USB HD interface it seemed to work flawlessly, and has since not been an issue. The USB drive controller was a "Dragon USB to SATA/IDE" controller for future users of this product be very weary as unless you actually use the CRC option you may not know that the controller is creating flawed copies of your data. It doesn't seem to matter whether or not you use Windows copy or Vice-Versa, this particular USB to SATA/IDE controller simply corrupts the data somehow, of which I have no logical explanation.

Thank you very much for posting the solution to the problem! Smile
Happy to hear that ViceVersa CRC verification helped making sure the files were OK. It is actually quite scary to think that you can copy files to a location and the files may actually be corrupted, without you knowing! When we backup to USB drive we always activate CRC verification to be sure the data is OK, even if it takes longer.
