OK, here we are almost 2.5 years since the last posing on this blog and I am still having problems with this same issue. Is there a button or check box someplace that I have missed or has this not been fixed as yet? (I am currently using build version 2014) |

The same as the rest of this stream....
I am backing up my server files using ViceVersa and find that my Profile Log is always full of messages stating that it cannot delete directories on the Target because files still exist in them. The files that are left are ones in my 'excluded' list.
I want the exclusion to work on files being backed up, but the software needs to delete them if they need to be deleted out of the backup. |

Ahhh! This is something that has not been implemented yet but we are considering it for one of the next releases. Right now exclusion filters exclude files from both source and target.

I would very much wish to have these options as one of the choices when the "can't delete folder because it's not empty" error message pops up - or even as general option.
I synchronize two computers with lots of source code on it, and I exclude generated object and lib files, because otherwise I always need to do rebuild after a synchronization, because my build settings are different on both machines. Now I need to move folder around quite often, or rename them on one machine and when I synchronize I often get that "Can't delete folder... " error message.
One suggestion for a simple solution to this problem:
After a synchronization, the folders that couldn't be deleted (because of excluded files in them) show up in the file comparison page. I would want to have a "Delete folder and all subfolders.." option that doesn't care about any excluded files and just makes a plain folder delete. I mean, it is not terribly important, because one can always do that manually in a normal file manager, but it would make life easier.
Bye,
Andreas |
