I can not make the scheduler to run. With or without a password. When entering password I ger error message 0x80070005 access denied.
Also I can now view more than one project at the time even when switched to multiple project view. |

That is probably an error related to Windows XP not to VV , did you try google?
What do you mean by 'Also I can now view more than one project at the time even when switched to multiple project view'

Are you logged-in with Administrator privileges? (you will need Administrator privileges to make changes to the VVScheduler) _________________ --

|

I, too, get an "access denied (0x80070005)" error when I try to use VV Scheduler. So far, I think it is probably a Windows issue. I have searched the web for hours on this issue, downloaded and installed a hotfix (kb904423) as well as covered all of the obvious bases still with no success. Even if it's not a VV issue, I would sure appreciate any suggestions that the people at VV have as I'm sure that their knowledge on the subject is greater than most of ours.

Latest update:
I got it to work! I, like many of us, am basically the only user of my home computer and, therefore, the administrator. When I originally set up WINDOWS I elected not to enter a password when prompted for one. I think that's what was causing this issue.
So, to remedy the situation, I created a password by going to <START> <CONTROL PANEL> <USER ACCOUNTS>, clicked on my user name, and selected 'create a password' . Then I used VVScheduler and it worked. You still have to set a password with the "set password. . ." button on the TASK tab of the scheduler (even after you have created one with "USER ACCOUNTS".
Hope this helps. |
