I am using build 2015 on Windows XP SP3, backing up files to a Windows Server 2008 32-bit server, using VVScheduler.

I have all my source, target and archive folders in this format:
\\?\UNC\ComputerName\sharename\foldername

It does the backup perfectly.
It archives the files perfectly.

However, I have a setting to delete archived file older than 7 days, and only keep max 1 copy for each file. I found these lines in my log:

---- Start of quote ----
2008-12-02 13:15:57 : -- Checking archive folder ...
2008-12-02 13:15:57 : Amount of files in target archive folder: 0 (0)
...
2008-12-02 13:15:57 : - Archive Information -
2008-12-02 13:15:57 : - Files Added to Archive - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 15 (903.34MB)
2008-12-02 13:15:57 : - Files Deleted from Archive - Source: 0 (0) - Target: 0 (0)
---- End of quote ----

Interestingly it shows that there is nothing in the archive folder, but actually in the archive folder there are heaps of files that were backed up from the same file, with different dates on it, and many of them are older than 7 days. Obviously it is not doing "max 1 copy per file". I suspect that it is not seeing the files in the archive folder. However when I try to open the path of the archive folder in Windows Explorer (with "\\" instead of "\\?\UNC\"), I can see the files.

This problem does not happen when I go into VV UI and sync manually. When I sync manually the old archive files are deleted as expected. This only happens when syncing by VVScheduler.

Can anyone suggest what might be the problem?

Thanks!

I have just installed ViceVersa 2.5 Beta. I found the same problem in the new version as well. Does TGRMN plan to fix this problem in the near future? If this issue can be fixed in version 2.5 final release, we are more than happy to upgrade our licenses.

Thank you!

We are having a hard time reproducing this problem! We thought it was already fixed in the beta... Can you please send asap the profile file (.fsf) and the entire profile log showing this error to support@tgrmn.com ,
thanks

Hi Support team, sorry to dig up old post. Now the 2.5 has been out for a while, are we able to get a fix for our problem? I'm not looking at upgrading my 2.0 yet, but just want to have the problem fixed. Is it possible? I've sent an email to the support mailbox a while ago but had no response.

Thanks

Sorry but is the support team trying to ignore something that they've promised before? I have received any response since 10 Jul 2009... Could the support team please have a look? Thanks!

Otherwise we have been waiting for your response since 10 July. Evil or Very Mad
